Entered in the 2024 Kula Cloth Design competition to be printed on an antimicrobial outdoor cloth. I was inspired by the French textile print toile de jouy and wanted to create a repeating pattern that also told a story. These scenes depicts two Squirrel friends, Stan and Sebastian, as they venture into the great outdoors and set up camp. The gear depicted in this illustration is gear that I love and that is renowned in the ultralight community for being cottage made by small businesses. Other aspects and motif in the illustration are informed by my interest in mycology and foraging for edible plants/materials to make my own ink with. I added a hidden rabbit as a sort of a scavenger hunt and twist to the storyline but also as an informal signature.
